2005-2006 Officers
Currently the Prescott Chapter of the AIAA
has a structure of four officers, a faculty advisor, and some other helpful
people. The structure is broken down as follows:
Laura Letterman - Branch
Chair - The Chair's job is to organize and run local meetings. The
Chair ensures that all meetings observe customary rules of order and that
proper procedure is professionally conducted. The Chair sees that the affairs
of the branch are properly handled and represent the best interests of the
AIAA.
Christopher Douglass - Branch
Vice Chair - The Vice Chair's responsibilities are to assist the Branch
Chair in the smooth operation of all AIAA projects, meetings, and other local
functions. The Vice Chair assumes all responsibilities and organizational
duties in the absence or incapacity of the Chair. The Vice Chair is the Chair
of the Programs Committee.
Brian Tuttle -
Branch Secretary - The Secretary's function is to record the minutes of
the meetings, record attendance, and maintain necessary correspondence. The
Secretary is also the branch's reporter to the AIAA Student Journal's "Student
Branch Highlights" column.
Alex Morgan - Branch
Treasurer - The Treasurer's purpose is to handle the AIAA's
funds. The Treasurer handles and deposits local dues and funding received
and balances the branch's checkbook. The Treasurer must also send all national
dues and a financial statement to the national AIAA headquarters.
open - Public Relations
Coordinator - The duties of the Pubic Affairs Coordinator are to
organize industry tours, organize transportation to and from the tours, contact
speakers to give presentations at the local meetings, and to keep the
organization informed of national meetings and dinner meetings. The Public
Affairs Coordinator is also responsible for promoting the AIAA locally and
informing local members of local meetings.
Dr. David Lanning
- Faculty Advisor - The faculty advisor attends the local meetings and
offers the current officers valued advice and insight when needed for the
smooth continual operation of the local AIAA branch. The faculty advisor also
coordinates activities with the Phoenix Section of AIAA.
