Spring Break Trip 1999

Scaled Composites never disappoints.  Although photography was prohibited on our tour, it was still a very enjoyable experience.  We walked around the Proteus high-altitude multi-mission aircraft which was under construction the year before when we were there.  We saw a crew compartment under construction which was to be in competition for an around-the-world by ballon attempt.  There was the original Boomerrang assymetical twin as well as a new fuselage of a larger version.  Also of interest were many wings and tail surfaces for Orbital Science's Pegasus air-launched booster.  One of the two X-38 CRV models was being rebuilt for a different project.  The pictures below illustrate just some of the projects Scaled Composites has worked on.
