The Embry-Riddle Prescott Arizona Student Section of AIAA previously adopted Trail #40 (Clark Springs Trail) adjacent to the Granite Mountain Wilderness in the Prescott National Forest through the Adopt-a-Trail Program.  The Clark Springs Trail is a little less than two miles in length and climbs about 800 feet from the trailhead at Granite Basin Lake to the terminus at Trail #37, at the pass between Little Granite Mountain and Two Rock Mountain.  The trail has numerous sections in poor shape and there is much work to be done.  Needed work includes adding water bars to help take water off the trail and reduce erosion, and rerouting sections of the trail that are too eroded to rehabilitate.  We adopted the trail in November 2001.  We have gone out many times the past two academic years to work on the trail, and have donated a total of about 167 man-hours (recently in conjunction with Sigma Gamma Tau) of work on this project.

We no longer work on this project.  If you are an AIAA member and are interested in restarting this community service, please contact Dr. David Lanning.
